Liebe Kunstschaffende und Nichtschaffende,

das unabhängige Medienfestival plattform:[no budget] in Tübingen bittet
nun
bereits zum 7. Mal um eure Beiträge!

Am hoffentlich sonnigen Wochenende vom 22. bis zum 24. Mai 2009 verwandelt
sich das selbstverwaltete Wohnprojekt Leibnizhaus II zum zentralen Ort für
ein unkommerzielles und werbefreies Festival.

Wir sind eine offene Gruppe sehr unterschiedlicher Menschen, die jedes Jahr
in neuer Konstellation antritt, um in vielen Diskussionen, ein Festival zu
planen. Obwohl wir alle noch mit vielen anderen Dingen beschäftigt sind,
haben wir über die Jahre immer mehr Möglichkeiten entdeckt, noch mehr und
noch unterschiedlicheren Projekten Raum zu bieten.

Neben all den Filmen ist auch jede weitere Form an Arbeiten, wie
Theaterstücke, Tonkollagen, Bilder, Figuren, Hörspiele, Handyfilme und
Installationen, willkommen. Lange Filme sind allerdings schwerer im
regulären Programm unterzubringen, daher kann nur für wenige ein kleiner
atmosphärischer Langfilmraum eingerichtet werden. Zudem suchen wir auch
Bands und DJ-Sets. Wir freuen uns über all eure Kreationen.

Eine besondere Freude ist es immer, Publikum und Künstler einander
vorzustellen. Kommt doch einfach vorbei! Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten und
auch
Platz zum Zelten, in leicht schräger Lage, gibt es. Leckeres
Frühstück, eine
Menge Spaß und Kunst, zum Anschauen, Zuhören und Mitmachen, könnt ihr dann
im Leibnizhaus drei Tage lang genießen.

Als Schwerpunkt hat sich "Mensch und Maschine" dieses Jahr
herauskristallisiert. Es liegt an euch, das Thema gesellschafts- und
medienkritisch, utopisch oder allgemein künstlerisch zu fassen. Es ist eure
Entscheidung, den Fokus auf kulturelle, soziale oder philosophische
Zusammenhänge zu lenken, die aus der komplexen Beziehung des Menschen zu
seinen Maschinen erwachsen oder euch etwas ganz anderes auszudenken. Mit dem
Themenschwerpunkt möchten wir für einen Teil des Festivals eine
inhaltliche
Fokussierung vorschlagen.

Um an menschlichen Ressourcen ein wenig zu sparen, haben wir den
Einsendeschluss auf den 31.1.09 vorverlegt. Einen Eindruck der letzten Jahre

Dear art-creators and appreciators,

the independent "Medienfestival plattform:[no budget]" in Tübingen now
invites your contributions for the 7th festival! On the hopefully fine
weekend of 22nd to 24th May 2009 the living project Leibnizhaus II
transforms into a centre for a non-commercial and ad-free festival.

We are an open, diverse group of people, who start in a fresh constellation
each year. Although we all are busy with many diverse projects, we have
decided early entries are required to offer space and the right atmoshphere
for the many different themes and schemes in the media projects field.

The festival platform deals with all varieties of contemporary art like
video performances, interactive installation etc. We are interested in
subversive art and like to explore new forms of cultural expressions. The
festival consists of individual art works, some of which
intersect/intertwine with one another, while others constitute unique
program elements. Apart from experimental short and feature films,
documentations etc. we dig deeper into artforms at work, like plays,
performances and audiocollages, pictures, radio plays, mobile films and
installations. So if these are your kind of areas, then your entries are
welcome - send us your proposals for installations, presentations,
performances, projects, papers and workshops! Through a main topic we would
like to suggest a content focus for a part of the festival.

Feature films are more difficult to accomodate in the regular program but a
small atmospheric feature film area will be provided for fewer entries.
Apart from the media Art, we are also searching for Audio visual performers,
bands and DJ`s.

One of the special moments is always presenting public and artists to each
other. The festival offers the opportunity of making new contacts with a
network of artists and students. There is overnight accomodation and space
for tents provided in the immediate vicinity, a tasty breakfast, heaps of
fun and art to view, hear and take in, so you can enjoy yourselves in the
Leibnizhaus three days long.

The emphasis this year is on the relationship between "human and machines".
It is up to you how you view the topic, whether society and media-critical,
or seizing utopian or generally artistical influences. It is your decision
to focus on cultural or direct social or philosophical connections which
have arisen from the complex relationship of people with their machines, or
you may have a completely different view. We are open to new perspectives.

In order to spare human resources and nerves a little, we have decided the
closing date for entries will be 31.01.2009. You can enter your projects
